School is an important part in every child’s life. What they learn in school will help guide them into the next big chapter of their lives. Did you know students who participate in some type of extracurricular program such as sports, music, drama, art or other clubs generally receive higher grades? Did you also know that students also learn useful skills such as teamwork, responsibility and develop personal skills such as self confidence that will help them become more successful in life?
The tragedy is that these extracurricular programs are being eliminated from schools nationwide due to budget cuts. To make up for these budget cuts, the coaches, teachers, students and most likely YOU are forced to participate in traditional fundraising to keep these programs alive. Having your kids come home with an order sheet in hand to sell wrapping paper, cookie dough, gift baskets, magazines or other items probably isn’t your favorite thing to do. Selling door- to- door, or setting up shop in front of your local grocery store on a weekend probably isn’t the way you’d like to spend your free time either.
What if your kids could raise money for their school without having to sell door-to-door? What if they could raise money even while they sleep, are on vacation or from halfway around the globe? What if they just had to spend 10 minutes a month updating their wish list with cool school gear they need and want and in return, people that they’ve added from their community such as relatives, neighbors and friends could purchase that gear for them? Best of all, you can reclaim the time that would otherwise be spent selling stuff that most people probably don’t want or need. Global Village Concerns can make this a reality.
